Job summary

Our client, LHH Recruitment Solutions, seeks an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting activities in a hands-on role. You will manage the month-end close, financial statements, budgeting support, internal controls, and a growing accounting team.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and the ability to drive process improvements while overseeing day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing month-end close, audits, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting function including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Partner with executive leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury activities.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting system enhancements.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to support business decisions.
• Hire, develop, mentor, and lead accounting team members.
