Applied Industrial Technologies seeks an Account Specialist to plan, implement, and execute target industry marketing programs. You will call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others using a consultative selling approach to learn about customers' applications and needs.

You will contribute to a team focused on growth, working with service centers to manage orders and deliver value. This role emphasizes relationship building and field engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales or marketing.
• 3–5 years of industry-related work experience.
• Proven experience in developing new business and managing a sales territory.
• Relationship-building skills at all levels with customers and prospects.
• Hands-on product demonstrations for customers and prospects; mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day review and processing of requisitions as assigned.
• Enter data into systems to obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and maintain blanket POs.
• Evaluate and resolve part-number changes; notify customers of obsolete items.
• Identify duplicate stock codes and maintain look-ahead lead times.
• Expedite orders with service centers and customers; support sourcing.
• Resolve product warranty issues with the service center.
• Track cost savings and document value added for customers.
