Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies seeks an Account Specialist to plan, implement, and execute target industry marketing programs while calling on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others using a consultative selling approach to learn customers' applications.

You will help drive value for customers by coordinating requisitions, quotes, and orders, maintaining lead times, and expediting shipments with service centers. Strong relationship-building and business development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to bachelor's degree in business, sales or marketing related fields.
• 3 to 5 years' industry related work experience.
• Proven experience in developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory.
• Relationship-building skills at all levels with customers and prospect organizations.
• Hands-on product demonstrations for customers and prospects; mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day review and processing of requisitions as assigned.
• Enter data into AIT's and customer's systems to obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and maintain blanket purchase orders.
• Evaluate and resolve changes in part numbers; coordinate with customers for approvals and inform of obsolescence.
• Identify duplicate stock codes or products and maintain lead times for items.
• Collaborate with service centers to collect weekly backlog and past-due reports; expedite orders.
• Provide product sourcing assistance and pursue products within our scope of supply.
• Resolve, monitor, and track all product warranty issues with the service center.
• Track cost savings achieved by Applied and document value add to customers.
