Job summary

Van Meter is seeking an Account Manager to directly manage customer relationships, coordinate sales, and visit customer locations to discuss projects and demonstrate products. The role focuses on growing accounts and delivering lasting value.

You will build strong relationships with customers and internal teams, identify new opportunities, review sales and transaction reports, and develop strategic selling plans. Travel about 15% is required.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in sales.
• Minimum of two year degree or equivalent experience; four year degree preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience required.
• Electrical product knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Ability to travel approximately 15% for training and support.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships.
• Provide excellent customer service for existing customers by providing solutions, managing projects, or providing information on products or services.
• Identify new business opportunities and establish new customer relationships.
• Review reports of business transactions, sales reports, expense reports and promotional letters for assigned accounts.
• Develop strategic selling strategies for individual customers, track and analyze buying patterns.
• Work closely with Inside Sales Representatives and Technicians to keep account activities and literature up to date.
• Develop technical knowledge of new and changing industry.
