Job description

The Account Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of the Life Sciences business culture to drive and develop a productive sales strategy in their region. A requirement is to be competent with solution selling principles and practices and demonstrate a high level of professionalism to both clients and work colleagues.

Account Managers will have a proven ability to develop new business and revenue streams within the North America region and have further developed existing accounts for new business opportunities and subsequent revenue generation in untouched departments or company sites whilst expanding the territory client base and network within the Life Sciences industry.

Two key success requirements for the Account Manager will be to develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the product portfolio and align this understanding to the needs and pains of the target audience (the client).

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science or a related field
  • Minimum 7 Years Sales Experience with 3 years of account management experience
  • Ability to manage and generate revenue from existing customers

What will you be doing in this role?
  • Develop new revenue from existing and new departments to achieve/exceed territory revenue plan.
  • Effectively liaise with the customer base through office-based and face-to-face contact, proactively steering relationships towards strategic partnership status.
  • Prepare an account plan for each organization, including organization profile, revenue analysis, relationship profiles, SWOT analysis, use of services, growth strategy, objectives, and implementation schedule of Total Account Management.
  • Plan customer training visits and events to maximize effectiveness and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Acquire detailed knowledge of the Science product portfolio and stay updated on new product releases.
  • Report back from customer training sessions, record customer feedback, gather intelligence, and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain and update sales reports and other administrative mechanisms as per deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to maximize sales opportunities and stay informed about services and campaigns.
  • Organize customer visits efficiently, managing time, costs, and travel to meet manager expectations.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction with Clarivate Analytics services.
  • Deputize for team members or your line manager as required.
  • Identify personal training and development needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Promote safety and adhere to legal and company standards to ensure safe working practices.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by your manager or director.
About the Team

This team manages our largest global customers across the Life Sciences & Healthcare segment, handling multiple geographies.

Hours of Work
  • This is a remote position based in EST or PST time zones.
  • Full-time role with core hours in your time zone, with flexibility for global scheduling.
Compensation - US Only

The base salary ranges from $145,000 to $185,000 USD annually, plus an annual on-target commission of $97,000 to $145,000. Compensation depends on experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors. Benefits include medical, dental, prescriptions, life insurance, 401k with match, disability coverage, vacation, sick leave, volunteer time, discounts, and more.
