Job summary

University of California, Berkeley Law is seeking an Academic HR Partner to manage faculty appointments, compensation, visas, and benefits. You will advise senior leadership on complex personnel matters and coordinate academic searches, while ensuring compliance with campus policies and bargaining agreements.

You will support MRAC, prepare appointment letters, track workloads, and maintain faculty records, partnering with UCPath and BRS to reflect terms accurately.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of campus, system-wide and college policies and contracts.
• Strong analytical skills to advise leadership on complex issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across audiences.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates academic appointment and review processes for senate faculty.
• Advises the Dean and MRAC and reviews faculty teaching/research/service efforts.
• Drafts appointment letters, reviews cases, and supports decanal recommendations.
• Ensures timely submission of academic cases and total compliance with policies.
• Coordinates searches, hires, and alignment with UCPath and BRS.
• Provides data for internal/external reports and manages faculty records.
