Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) seeks a Communications Specialist to tell stories, create engaging digital content, and support communications initiatives across the IU. This in-person role at the Educational Service Center in Downingtown, PA involves evenings/weekends for events and programs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, 3+ years of experience, and clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications or related field required.
• Three years of relevant professional experience required; additional experience preferred.
• Clearances required: Act 34, Act 151, police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint within one year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communications support and services for internal and external audiences.
• Research, write, edit, and distribute press releases and feature stories regarding CCIU programs, events, students, and staff.
• Assist with development, management, and maintenance of content for CCIU social media platforms and websites.
• Assist with design and production of communications materials (brochures, flyers, newsletters).
• Provide communications support to CCIU schools, divisions, and school districts as needed.
• Assist with photography and video production services for CCIU programs, events, and initiatives.
• Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of CCIU events and communications initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Communications, Marketing & Engagement team and staff to support organizational goals.
• Work evenings and weekends, as required, to fulfill job responsibilities including events and initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
