Job summary

Story is hiring a Video Editor to shape footage into compelling films across Story's client work. You’ll edit documentary-style pieces, brand spots, narrative projects, and commercials, working closely with directors, producers, and clients.

You’ll own the edit from assembly through finishing, bringing a strong sense of story, pacing, and rhythm to every project. Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate, bring a strong portfolio, proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, and the ability to complete

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of editing work.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve.
• Ability to complete a paid test edit.
• Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Degrees not required. Your work speaks for itself.

Responsibilities

• Edit across documentary, brand, narrative, and commercial formats.
• Work with directors and producers from the first assembly through final delivery.
• Incorporate feedback, explore new approaches, and maintain quality under deadlines.
• Present work to clients and translate their notes into clear editorial decisions.
• Own finishing through color and sound, collaborating with VFX artists when needed.
• Maintain organized project files, media, and delivery assets.
