Job summary

Mott MacDonald in New York is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead the Stormwater Team and serve as Water Resources Sub-Market Lead. You'll advance stormwater, CSO, LTCP, and flood risk projects across the Northeast, guiding technical teams and engaging with regulators and clients.

You'll bring deep hydrology and hydraulics expertise, a track record delivering large-scale municipal and utility programs, and a commitment to mentorship, growth, and delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY preferred.
• CFM strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in stormwater, drainage, CSO and flood risk.
• Advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience.
• Familiarity with NYCDEP, NJDEP, NYSDEC and PADEP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead Stormwater Team in the Northeast and mentor staff.
• Deliver stormwater management, flood control, and drainage projects.
• Lead permitting and compliance efforts with NJDEP, NYSDEC, FEMA and other agencies.
• Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders (NYCDEP, NJDEP, FEMA, USACE).
• Deliver CSO LTCPs and wastewater system improvements.
• Support business development through client engagement and market growth initiatives.
