Job summary

City of Universal City is seeking a Stormwater Technician to support MS4 compliance, conduct daily inspections of permit sites, and assist with construction site permitting. You will help monitor BMPs, maintain street-sweeping operations, and generate related reports for the Water Quality Program.

The role requires operating various equipment, maintaining records, and contributing to annual household waste and street-cleaning efforts. Benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with ability to obtain licenses within 12 months.
  • Must be able to pass exams and obtain MS4 Compliance/Certification within 12 months of initial employment.
  • Must communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the street sweeper on a strict schedule.
  • Maintains daily logs on subdivision sweeping, miles driven, and supplies used.
  • Inspects and maintains City facilities to reduce storm water runoff impacts.
  • Performs maintenance of streets, signs, and drainage systems as needed.
  • On-call duty for storm events and emergencies; overtime may be required.
