Job summary

The Town of Apex is seeking a Stormwater Maintenance Worker to perform drainage maintenance and repair work at 105-A Upchurch St, Apex, NC. The role operates Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm with on-call rotation and reports to the Utility Maintenance Supervisor.

Two openings are available with a competitive hiring range. Responsibilities include maintaining stormwater infrastructure, using tools and equipment, documenting activities, and ensuring safety around crews and utilities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Less than one year experience in drainage maintenance or wet-utility construction.
NC CDL Class B with tanker endorsement required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Maintain stormwater infrastructure including inlets, pipes, and discharge outlets.
Operate hand tools and mechanized equipment to clean and repair drainage systems.
Document work activities and maintain records in the work order system.
Assist with safety planning and traffic control during jobs.
Attend schools and trainings to retain certifications and upgrade skills.
