Job summary

The Town of Apex is hiring a Collections System Field Crew Supervisor to lead a 2–5 person crew in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer assets at 105-A Upchurch St, Apex, NC. You will guide daily work, review performance, and ensure safety while meeting town goals.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of relevant experience, plus certifications such as NC Class B-CDL with tanker endorsement and OSHA/NASSCO credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Possession or ability to obtain NC Class B-CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months.
• OSHA Competent Person, Trenching & Shoring, Confined Space certificates or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• NASSCO Pipe Assessment certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Possession of required state certifications for water/sewer utility work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 2–5 full‑time employees on daily activities and work orders.
• Coordinate equipment operations, maintenance, and repairs per Town standards.
• Train and mentor staff; conduct safety meetings and performance reviews.
• Attend safety briefings; ensure OSHA compliance and documentation.
• Coordinate response to SSOs and odor calls; manage manhole inspections.
• Create weekly work plans and report on team performance.
