County of DuPage is seeking a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Worker for the Stormwater Management Department at the Marionbrook Underground Facility in Darien, IL 60561. This on-site role supports landscape and site maintenance, equipment repair, and public safety of stormwater systems.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years of specialized maintenance experience in wastewater and water systems, 1 year of lead worker responsibilities, and the ability to obtain a CDL Class A or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of specialized experience in preventive/corrective maintenance for wastewater and water systems.
• 1 year of lead worker responsibilities.
• Ability to obtain CDL Class A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs landscaping and site maintenance for open space owned and managed by the department.
• Maintains, installs, troubleshoots, rebuilds, and repairs equipment (landscape equipment, small motors, pumps).
• Ensures operations of stormwater facilities and drainage systems to the public.
• Removes stream blockages and debris jams.
• Flushes, televises, and repairs storm sewer systems.
• Maintains and repairs stormwater facilities and assists with construction and excavation projects.
• Operates heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders, vactor trucks).
• Holds integral role in in-house drainage and stormwater improvement projects.
• Ensures jobs are completed safely and orderly.
• Orders parts and fills material requests.
• Repairs lift stations and responds to emergencies with public works.
• Supervises summer help on lawn maintenance, painting, cleaning and related work.
• Trains employees in lower level maintenance positions.
