Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in West Chicago, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our Grounds Roads Crew. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing roadways, trails, parking areas, and related infrastructure across the district.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of maintenance experience, hold an Illinois Class A CDL or obtain it within 6 months, and hold a Pesticide Operator's License within 6 months. Schedule is Mon-Fri with competitive benefits.

Job description

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking Maintenance Technician II to join our Grounds Roads Crew located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve. This position focuses on maintenance and repair of District roadways including sealcoat, pave, patch, repair gravel and asphalt, driveways, trails, and parking lots.

Compensation

$26.65 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Role

We are looking for a team player with an Illinois Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with 1-3 years of experience in maintaining roadways; water scaping and hard scaping. Experience planting trees and shrubs, repairing signage and fences, and trail maintenance. Current IL Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License preferred. This position works in a variety of different settings and will require travel throughout the district.

Schedule

Schedule is Monday - Friday 6:45 am to 2:45 pm.

Key Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• 1-3 years of related experience in maintenance duties and operation of machinery and equipment.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing; Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required within (6) months in good standing.
