Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking a hands-on Stormwater Maintenance Technician to support outdoor infrastructure work in Sarasota County. You will operate equipment and perform inspections to safeguard the community’s stormwater system, with training toward NASSCO PACP certification and a clear path for career growth. Starting pay is $21.51/hour with potential increases based on experience and proficiency.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in utility water distribution, stormwater conveyance & wastewater systems.
• Class "B" CDL with Tanker Endorsement or ability to obtain within six months (paid by Sarasota County).
• Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of stormwater systems and appurtenances.
• Operate vacuum trucks, jetters, rodding and related equipment.
• Inspect and maintain sanitary/stormwater lines and manholes.
• Respond to customer complaints and service disruptions.
