Job summary

Sarasota County Government is seeking a hands-on Stormwater Maintenance Technician to inspect and maintain stormwater conveyance systems. You will operate CCTV trucks and other equipment, respond to emergencies, and lead staff to ensure safe, efficient work on road rights-of-way.

Starting pay is posted at $22.14 per hour (Step 1) with potential increases for additional experience. A Florida Class B CDL with tanker endorsement is required within six months of hire, along with a valid FL driver's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in stormwater conveyance systems.
• Valid Florida Class "B" CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Florida Driver License at hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform stormwater conveyance system inspections on pipelines, structures, inlets and appurtenances.
• Utilize CCTV equipment to inspect the conveyance system.
• Respond to emergencies and lead staff in operations for safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components used in the CCTV process.
• Maintain knowledge of FDOT stormwater specifications and complete work orders.
