Job summary

Sarasota County Government's Stormwater Department seeks outdoors-minded workers to maintain and inspect stormwater conveyance systems. You will operate CCTV equipment and perform inspections that protect our community, with on-call requirements and hands-on field work.

Starting pay is $22.14 per hour (Step 1), with potential higher pay for additional experience. CDL with tanker endorsement must be obtained within six months of hire; Florida driver license required at time of hire.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems.
• A valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement required within six (6) months from the time of hire.
• A valid Florida Driver License at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform stormwater conveyance system inspections on pipelines, structures, and appurtenances along road rights-of-way and properties.
• Utilize CCTV equipment to inspect the conveyance system.
• Respond to emergencies and lead staff in operations to ensure safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components used during CCTV processes.
• Complete and submit work orders in a professional and timely fashion.
• Operate equipment such as backhoes, excavators, arm mowers, and vacuum/CCTV trucks for maintenance and inspection.
