Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer to support water resource projects in the Houston area.

You will work under project engineers to apply design engineering and modeling techniques for federal, state, and local municipalities, with emphasis on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater systems, data collection, assimilation, and presentations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of tasks.
• Demonstrated commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities.
• Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
• Work on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
• Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
• Perform other duties as needed.
