Job summary

TYLin, Richmond-based on the Mid-Atlantic team, seeks a Stormwater Engineering Designer to support planning, design, and construction of municipal stormwater and climate resiliency projects in Central Virginia, including the City of Richmond. You will review plans and permits, collaborate with project teams, and help secure funding for infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2+ years of stormwater design experience for municipal clients.
• VA DEQ Plan Reviewer certification required or obtainable within 3 months.
• Familiarity with Virginia stormwater regulations and local permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and oversight for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Prepare design/construction documents for stormwater, wastewater, water facilities and climate resiliency projects.
• Review designs, bid packages, RFPs, and statements of work as part of program management.
• Support projects from planning through construction for Richmond-area and Virginia clients.
• Mentor junior design staff and contribute to project teams.
• Assist with grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure projects.
• Support business development with municipal clients and new Virginia projects.
