Job summary

South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) seeks a Water Quality Compliance Specialist I (EHM I) to perform inspections and evaluations of stormwater sites in SC. You will support the Bureau of Water, prepare reports, and assist with MS4 audits in the Charleston BRLS office.

Qualifications include an associate degree or a high school diploma with two years of environmental health experience, plus knowledge of SOPs and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience as described in the job posting.
• Experience in environmental health or related fields is considered in lieu of a degree.
• Certification in the environmental field qualifies as related experience.

Responsibilities

• Stormwater construction site inspections and compliance documentation per SOPs.
• Industrial stormwater compliance evaluations and reporting.
• Provide input on BMP manuals and inspection/audit documents.
• Investigate stormwater complaints and initiate enforcement per agency procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and support BRLS Charleston Office.
