Job summary

State of Indiana’s Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Central Office in Indianapolis seeks a stormwater and erosion control resource. You’ll lead consultant partners, provide technical guidance, and pursue CPESC/CESSWI/CISEC or equivalent credentials within 24 months.

You will support environmental programs, oversee inspections, and ensure permits meet state and federal requirements. About 53,222 USD starting salary, with compensation based on education and experience.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of environmental protection principles and practices.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for reports and meetings.
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with agencies, staff and consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as environmental expert and guidance lead for regulated communities and staff.
  • Perform project management to meet program needs and coordinate with consultants.
  • Research permits, respond to comments, and defend permit terms and conditions.
  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and investigations of facilities and sites.
  • Enforce compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Prepare sampling/work plans and perform field work as required.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and manage outreach.
