Job summary

Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) seeks a stormwater management specialist to serve as a resource for erosion and sediment control. You will oversee consultant partners handling Construction Stormwater General Permit submittals and provide technical assistance to INDOT field staff and contractors.

The role is based at INDOT's Central Office in Indianapolis and requires completing stormwater certification within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of environmental protection principles, chemistry, biology, hydrology, mathematics, and engineering as related to stormwater management.
• Ability to conduct surveys, inspections, and investigations of facilities and sites, interpret findings, and make recommendations.
• Excellent research and writing skills for preparing accurate reports.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with diverse parties on environmental matters.
• At least five years of environmental or environmental public health experience in a similar role (degree not required).
• Must possess or obtain CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC, or EPA Construction General Permit Site Inspector Training certification within 24 months.

This position serves as a stormwater management and erosion and sediment control resource for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).
