Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: meet ONE of the options. A Master’s may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience: two years of full-time professional experience in inspections or environmental regulatory work.
• Experience: two years of stormwater management, BMP design/inspection, or MS4/NP DES permit compliance.
• Experience: stormwater sampling in field or lab for pollutants.
• A valid driver license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform journey-level inspections and enforcement of storm water regulations.
• Inspect industrial/commercial facilities and residences for structural BMP maintenance.
• Perform investigations and mitigation of storm water pollutant sources.
• Educate business owners and citizens about pollution prevention and BMPs.
• Write technical reports and utilize databases for reporting.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or Water Resources

Bachelor's Degree with 16 semester/24 quarter units in construction management, geology, chemistry, physics, biology, or environmental science
