Job summary

The Department of Public Works and Transportation, Baltimore County, seeks a project engineer for the Storm Drainage and Floodplains Management Section within the Bureau of Engineering and Construction. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college.
  • Four years of field or office engineering experience.
  • Or possess Engineer in Training registration with four years' experience.
  • Proof of licenses, certifications and education must be submitted with each application.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of storm drainage projects from planning through construction.
  • Lead procurement, design evaluation, and right of way coordination; facilitate public meetings.
  • Review plans and specifications for storm drainage infrastructure.
  • Manage budgets and schedules; approve consultant invoices.
  • Utilize GIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D in project development.
  • Engage with community meetings and external agencies.
  • Ensure permits and regulatory approvals are secured.
