Job summary

Swissôtel Chicago is hiring an Inventory Clerk to support storeroom operations, inventory control, and purchasing coordination in a luxury hotel setting.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, ability to multitask, and strong communication with multiple departments. Experience with inventory, purchasing, and BirchStreet is preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• Service-focused personality essential.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, and purchasing preferred.
• Fluency in English; hospitality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage, verify quantities against POs or invoices.
• Perform routine cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
• Label and organize inventory using FIFO and monitor expiration dates.
• Pull, pack, and distribute supplies to departments (Kitchens, Amuse, Banquets).
• Maintain storeroom areas, refrigerators, and freezers; operate pallet jacks safely.
• Ensure order documents are complete and verified (POs, market lists).
• Verify outgoing merchandise is properly authorized and recorded.
• Communicate with departments to facilitate product ordering.
• Maintain pars of stock and trigger timely deliveries.
• Review purchase requests with Purchasing Manager; collaborate with related teams.
• Maintain dry goods area and 24/7 Store inventory.
• Report hazards, risks, accidents as required.
