Job summary

Swissôtel Chicago is seeking an Inventory Clerk to manage incoming shipments, maintain accurate stock levels, and support purchasing processes. You will work closely with the Purchasing Manager and various hotel departments to ensure inventory accuracy, optimal par levels, and timely replenishment in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Service-focused mindset with hospitality experience is an asset.
• Experience with inventory, supply ordering, and purchasing is a plus.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and ability to navigate systems.
• Ability to take initiative, organize, direct, and plan.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• 1 year in related hospitality experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments and verify quantities against PO/invoices.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
• Label and organize inventory using FIFO methods and monitor expiration dates.
• Pull, pack, and distribute supplies to Kitchens, Amuse, Banquets.
• Clean and sanitize storeroom areas and operate pallet jacks per safety guidelines.
• Ensure all order documents are complete and verified (POs, market lists).
• Communicate with departments to facilitate product ordering.
• Maintain pars of stock with trigger mechanisms for timely deliveries.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Manager and department teams to keep inventory accurate.
• Maintain dry goods storage and 24/7 Store inventory organization.
• Report hazards, risks, accidents as required.
