Job summary

Family Dollar in Pineville, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will supervise associates, ensure a clean, well-stocked store, and uphold company policies.

The role covers opening/closing procedures, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, loss prevention, and staff training under the Store Manager. This on-site position offers growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain fixtures, displays and promotional materials.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
