Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus, under the direction of the Store Manager. You will supervise store employees, manage merchandise presentation, and prepare deposits to protect assets and minimize losses.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Understanding of cash security practices.
• Must be able to drive to bank deposits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandising standards.
• Ensure financial integrity: cashier accountability, deposits, refunds.
• Assist in store supervision in Store Manager’s absence.
