Job summary

Mead Lumber Company in Stockton, KS is seeking a Store Supervisor to lead daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, manage sales, inventory, scheduling, and safety under the Branch Manager.

You will oversee payroll, HR paperwork, training, hiring support, and performance reviews, while maintaining OSHA compliance and coordinating safety meetings. Weekend availability is required, with a hardware-focused team under your leadership.

Qualifications

• Operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Ability to operate delivery vehicles as needed.
• Stand for up to 8 hours; extended sitting and computer use.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and support at the front desk.
• Accurately process product returns throughout the day.
• Monitor pick tickets from the yard and adjust as needed.
• Review the customer aging report regularly.
• Monitor the order system to ensure correct marking and completion.
• Track open orders and verify invoiced pickups.
• Complete new hire paperwork and submit to HR.
• Monitor UKG for system errors and time-off requests.
• Accurately process payroll tasks on schedule.
• Ensure OSHA training compliance at each store location.
• Coordinate and organize regular safety meetings.
• Provide clear daily work direction and assign tasks.
• Monitor employee productivity and provide feedback.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing training.
• Assist in employee performance evaluations input.
• Participate in hiring and candidate selection as assigned.
• Address performance or disciplinary issues with management.
• Strong hardware knowledge required.
• Assemble grills, tools, and power equipment.
• Maintain and operate the paint department.
• Support plumbing-related products and services.
• Operate the register and assist as cashier when needed.
• Perform snow removal and seasonal maintenance duties.
• Serve as a delivery person when necessary.
• Must be available to work weekends.
