Job summary

Mead Lumber Company is seeking a Branch Manager in Grand Island to lead branch operations, sales, distribution, customer service, and staff management while driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will partner with the Management Team to implement effective processes, manage the budget, and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment within a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of industry, retail, or related management experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and make sound decisions.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, sales goals, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise branch staff across sales, yard operations, office, and service functions.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop employees, ensuring a high-performing team.
• Foster a positive work culture and establish sales goals, budgets, and strategies.
• Manage branch P&L, including labor, expenses, and accounts receivable.
• Oversee shipping, inventory management, and compliance with safety programs (OSHA, DOT).
