Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a dedicated Supervisor to join our team and help lead store operations and customer service across departments. You will coach staff on the sales floor, ensure daily tasks are completed, and maintain excellent customer service in a dynamic campus retail environment.

The role requires 2+ years in retail, strong communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; California stores offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time on the selling floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.
• Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Be knowledgeable about department and store operations; provide outstanding customer service.
• Help enforce loss prevention procedures; ensure area is properly merchandised and the store is operationally sound.
• Assist with processing sales transactions as needed.
• Support management and act as Manager-on-Duty in absence of the manager.
