Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Missouri to oversee daily store operations, lead the team, and ensure customer-first service. You will assist with scheduling, training, and ensuring sales goals while protecting company assets and optimizing profitability.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, inventory control, and adherence to security policies. A high school diploma and retail supervisory experience are preferred for candidate consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing adequate training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise with receiving, stocking, restocking, and building displays.
• Help maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Support planogram implementation and ensure merchandise presentation.
• Help ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
