Job summary

Dollar General in Missouri seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store leadership, supervise staff, and ensure strong customer service. You will help manage merchandise, cash handling, scheduling, training, and store operations to maximize profitability and loss prevention.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, planogram execution, inventory control, and assisting in the Store Manager's absence. Previous retail and supervisory experience preferred; relocation not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through receiving, stocking, and displays per processes.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Support cash control, refunds, tills counting and deposits.
• Assist in store management when the Store Manager is absent.
