Job summary

DeKalb Health in Pennsylvania seeks a full-time Shuttle Driver to pick up and drop off orders between warehouse and store locations with a focus on safety and timeliness.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, maintaining logs, and communicating effectively with managers and customers. A high school diploma and clean MVR are preferred; flexible schedule and pre-employment drug test required.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Shuttle orders to and from assigned warehouse and deliver store locations in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver orders accurately and safely to customers at assigned store locations via assigned delivery vehicle, and return safely to warehouse facility;
  • Required to load and unload all product for assigned vehicle;
  • Handle and/or report customer problems to the Store or Warehouse Manager;
  • Must report to work in a continuous timely manner;
  • Provide basic vehicle care and maintenance;
  • Maintain a time and mileage log; Maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record which meets underwriting standards 2 Responsible for meeting all criteria and policies as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook, Driver’s Handbook, and Fleet Safety Policy;
  • Must report to work in a continuous timely manner;
  • Assists in special projects as requested.

Requirements

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date;
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that would allow you to work an assortment of days, evenings and/or weekends (as needed)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • While loading and unloading assigned vehicle or during other assignments, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted or greater than 50 lbs with assistance;
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time;
  • Occasionally walk, stand, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, push, pull, crouch, squat, bend, twist, and stoop; Also required to climb, balance, crawl, talk, speak, and hear;
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, various degrees of cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, items of bulky or varying weight, risk of explosion, and/or vibration. Noise level may be moderate to heavy;
  • Must have considerable mobility; Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with general public, to understand highway traffic signs & signals, to respond to officials, and to make entries on reports, logs, and records;
  • Keep vehicle clean and check fluids regularly; Follow all company rules including safe driving policies and procedures and report any and all accidents / injuries immediately to management.
