Responsibilities and Qualifications

As Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. Providing exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during your workday, you will:

• Assist a neighbor in choosing the perfect toy for a lab who loves to fetch
• Greet weekly regular Bruno the Chihuahua when he comes in with his human mom
• Show a fourth grader how to test the water in his fish tank
• Set an example for other team members in delivering fantastic neighborly service
• Assist the store’s team leaders by reinforcing daily operational procedures and performance expectations
• Engage with PSP neighbors and smile through puppy breath

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and management routines
• Provide leadership coverage up to four times a week when managers are offsite
• Adhere to operational policies (cleanliness, animal care, safety, security)
• Perform back-office procedures like making signs, updating prices, and imputing cashier records
• Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team development
• Communicate opportunities for community engagement or store performance improvements
• Act as store team member when not acting as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years retail experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong sales and customer service skills
• Ability to operate equipment including forklifts, and perform physical tasks (climb ladders, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds)
• Flexible schedule, reliable transportation, pass drug screening, and be 18+
