Job summary

Walgreens in Newark, NJ is seeking a motivated team member to open and close the store in management's absence, handle cash and start‑up systems, and prepare the floor and stock room for the business day.

You will assist with inventory accuracy, pricing changes, displays, and cashier duties, provide friendly, proactive customer service, support backroom operations, and help ensure compliance with state laws on regulated products.

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Possesses or pursues PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
• Experience with cash handling and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in the absence of management, start-up systems, cash handling, and prepping for the business day.
• Process product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and pricing signage, and manage stockroom and displays.
• Assist with vendor deliveries and backroom processes.
• Ensure compliance with state laws on regulated products.
