Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Loss Prevention Professional to maintain a safe store environment and deter theft at entrances and throughout the sales floor.

You will greet customers, observe suspicious activity, and collaborate with store leadership to enforce policies with professionalism. In this role you will monitor compliance with safety and Code 50 procedures, participate in shortage reduction efforts, and support the company’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Provides visible command presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor in company-issued vest/attire, and monitors for safety issues.
• Maintains a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers; follows Loss Prevention directives and contributes to minimizing shortages.
• Gathers theft indicators and communicates findings to Store Leadership and Loss Prevention leadership.
• Monitors entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft; supports external theft response per policy.
• Other duties as assigned to support Loss Prevention initiatives.
• Trains and educates Associates on shortage reduction initiatives and proper checkout procedures.
• Represents and supports the Ross brand with a professional appearance and demeanor.
