Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to maintain a safe, secure shopping environment and deter theft at store entrances.

The role partners with Store Leadership to enforce policies, monitor for suspicious activity, and support loss prevention initiatives across the floor and backroom areas. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent (AA preferred), plus experience in retail supervision or security training, and strong communication skills to engage with

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions.

Responsibilities

• Provides visible presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor, deterring theft and maintaining a safe environment.
• Monitors for potential safety issues and supports loss prevention leadership.
• Gathers theft indicators and communicates with Store Leadership and Loss Prevention.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and loss prevention directives.
• Assists in minimizing operational shortages and training Associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
