Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is looking for a Sales Manager in Roanoke to lead and champion a high-performing selling culture, driving sales results and an engaging customer experience.

This role oversees front-end and service operations, ensuring brand standards and operational expectations are met. Responsibilities include coaching on selling behaviors, providing MOD coverage, and driving omni-channel service with BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to train and coach team members.
• Experience managing SOPs and store operations.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and early mornings

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors, driving conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership and operational continuity.
• Oversee balloons business, birthday party operations, and other in-store programs and events.
• Promote and enroll customers in the Loyalty Rewards Program, driving retention and repeat visits.
• Drive sales and operational excellence in Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar experience.
• Ensure efficient execution of BOPIS and Same Day Delivery.
• Support Custom Framing operations and customer consultations.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through structured onboarding.
• Partner in Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
