Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Sales Manager for the Knoxville, TN area to lead a high-performing selling culture, drive strong sales, and deliver an engaging customer experience. You will oversee front-end and service operations, coach staff, and ensure adherence to SOPs and company standards across the store.

Responsibilities include MOD coverage, POS accuracy, omni-channel initiatives like BOPIS, and supporting specialty areas such as Balloons, Knit & Sew Shop, and Custom Framing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and early mornings.
• Strong customer-focused coaching and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Model and coach Customer Experience and ART of Selling behaviors to drive conversion and customer satisfaction.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty (MOD) coverage, maintaining floor leadership and operational continuity.
• Ensure accurate use of POS and Self-Checkout systems for smooth transactions and customer support.
• Oversee Balloons business, birthday party operations, and other in-store programs and events, promoting loyalty programs.
• Champion MCC/Extend services (US only), ensuring customer adoption of protection plans and offerings.
• Drive sales and operational excellence in the Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar experience oversight.
• Ensure efficient execution of BOPIS and Same Day Delivery for timely order fulfillment.
• Support Custom Framing operations, including customer consultations and coordination with the frame shop.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
• Other duties as assigned.
