Job summary

Mother’s Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help ensure smooth daily operations, support the team, and deliver outstanding service in our California locations. This role emphasizes staff empowerment, customer journeys, and community standards.

You’ll lead operations, coach team members, and ensure safety and merchandising standards while adapting to flexible shifts, weekends, and evenings.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an Assistant Store Manager, department manager, or equivalent role.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written; proficient in English.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfortable with basic math.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations: support store workflows, follow up on cashier settlements and promotions.
• Support & develop staff: coordinate training, manage schedules, coach team members.
• Deliver customer excellence: greet customers, assist inquiries, and engage on the sales floor.
• Track performance: review daily sales and labor metrics; share insights with teams.
• Ensure store standards: conduct facility checks, report maintenance issues, uphold safety protocols.
• Enhance merchandising: create displays and support product placement strategies.
• Take initiative: cover openings/closings and fill in during breaks.
