Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Beloit, OH. You will help with daily activities, assist customers, organize merchandise, and ensure promotions and store standards are met.

The role requires strong communication, team leadership, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will participate in scheduling, payroll, and loss prevention while maintaining a safe, friendly environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and operational directives should be read and explained.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and records.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for promotional campaigns.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and handling payroll/scheduling/cash deposits.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help store manager supervise and develop store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and waste removal.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
