Job summary

Bassett Furniture – Store Operations Administrator is an entry level hourly role focused on supporting daily store operations and customer service. You will assist in order entry, payments, deliveries, and post-purchase follow-up while upholding Bassett standards across customer interactions, administrative tasks, and showroom operations.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and problems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to Bassett’s vision and values.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Team player with enthusiastic attitude.
• Clear communication with customers, coworkers and management.
• Read, understand and write English.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; navigate Bassett systems.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and overhead reaching.

Responsibilities

• Assist design consultants with order entry, cash handling, and financing applications.
• Help order parts for customers (arm caps, table legs, hardware, etc.).
• Manage petty cash reconciliation and cash drawer balancing.
• Audit daily sales orders via the transaction report.
• Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve post-purchase issues.
• Schedule deliveries and service calls; conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
• Process service orders and update customers on status.
• Receive POs for parts or store pickups.
• Audit daily folders and ensure proper deposits; coordinate with Retail Accounting.
• Help manage store operations: expenses, warehouse, inventory, building upkeep.
• Coordinate with HR, distribution centers, visual team, accounting, etc.
• Assist floor moves and ensure compliance with floor set and visuals.
• Support merchandising and tagging updates for new merchandise.
