Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Indiana LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help train store associates while ensuring a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on maintaining store standards and procedures in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect all company assets, including store cash; follow all policies and procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a respectful environment.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors; take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
