Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise handling, and adherence to corporate directives, while ensuring a safe and welcoming customer experience.

The role emphasizes training Store Associates, maintaining store cleanliness, and upholding company standards, with opportunities to grow within a dynamic discount retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
