Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

The role involves assisting with merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensuring compliance with company policies while maintaining a clean, organized store and a positive customer experience. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Ensure policies and safety procedures are followed by all associates.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team members.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked and floors clean.
