Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Centerville, TX location to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise associates, maintain inventory, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes a hands-on leader who drives sales, enhances customer experiences, and maintains a well-organized sales floor and stockroom. A strong team player with excellent communication is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, organized sales floor and stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and train store associates.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste management.
