Job summary

Dollar Tree in Shelby Township, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure friendly, efficient service while maintaining store standards and safety. The role includes opening/closing duties, payroll and scheduling, and protecting store assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and answer questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked, organized store and secure assets.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
