Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Store Manager to oversee day-to-day retail operations at Store 02120, South Congaree, SC. The role emphasizes hiring and developing staff, achieving sales and financial goals, and maintaining safety and food safety standards.

You will lead a team across departments, manage performance, and ensure high standards of customer service and store presentation while upholding Food Lion’s guiding principles and policies.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates throughout multiple departments.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote our Guiding Principles.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and easy service.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure safety standards.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, and CAO.
• Support the achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when Store Manager is absent.
• Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Model customer service and instill it in associates.
• Adhere to guidelines, policies and standard practices.
