Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Store Grocery Department Manager in Piedmont, SC, to oversee hiring, training, and development of department staff and to drive productivity and customer satisfaction.

You will lead scheduling, inventory controls, and wage planning while ensuring safety, food safety, and policy compliance across the department. A strong candidate will align with Food Lion values and demonstrate effective leadership in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must attain accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management, training and formal appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivation to promote Food Lion culture and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure a positive shopping experience with excellent customer service and product knowledge.
